Delete Your Account
You can permanently delete your YourVoice. Now account at any time. There are two ways to do it.
From inside the app
This is the fastest route — deletion happens immediately.
- 1.Open YourVoice. Now on iOS or Android and make sure you are signed in.
- 2.Go to Settings.
- 3.Tap Delete Account.
- 4.Confirm twice. Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out.
By email
If you no longer have the app installed, or cannot sign in, email us from the address on the account:
privacy@yourvoice.nowPut “Account deletion request” in the subject line. We will verify that the request comes from the account holder and confirm once it is done, normally within 30 days.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account removes:
- Your name, email address and password
- Your state and district
- Your support and oppose positions on bills
- The bills you follow
- Your notification settings and device tokens
Two things are handled differently, and you should know about them before you delete:
- Anything you sent to a representative’s office went through that office’s own contact form rather than through us. There is no copy here to delete, and we cannot retrieve it from the office that received it.
- Aggregate totals — such as “62% of constituents in this district support this bill” — keep the count your position contributed to, but it is no longer linked to you or to any identifier that points back to you.
Other options
If you would rather not delete everything, you can instead:
- Turn off Share Usage Analytics in Settings, which stops analytics collection and deletes the analytics profile associated with you.
- Turn off notifications in Settings.
- Email privacy@yourvoice.now to request a copy of your data, or to correct something.
